What is Foundation Day?

Foundation Day is the Foundation's first public governance event. At 5:00pm AEST on Thursday 14 May 2026, the Caretaker Trustee will broadcast a live address from Drake Village, on Wahlubal Country, in northern New South Wales.

The address will announce the Foundation's dual Poor ESG Target designation — the identification of two ASX-listed Australian energy companies as candidates for permanent Members Asset Pool inclusion under clause 30.3 of the governing Declaration — and disclose the FNAC review timeline that must be completed before any acquisition occurs.

The first community governance vote of the COG$ Joint Venture will be held live during the broadcast.

The designation — subject to FNAC review

The Foundation intends to identify the following two companies as Poor ESG Targets under clause 30.3, subject to completion of the First Nations Advisory Council review. No acquisition occurs until the FNAC review is complete.

ASX: STO
Santos Limited
FY25 dividend 100% unfranked. Active First Nations litigation: Narrabri (Gomeroi), Barossa (Tiwi Islanders), Cooper Basin (Yandruwandha Yawarrawarrka). Upstream extraction — community voice target.
Pending FNAC Review
ASX: ORG
Origin Energy Limited
27.5% of Australia Pacific LNG. One of Australia's three largest retail energy price-setters. Downstream and retail engagement — constructive transition target.
Pending FNAC Review
First Nations governance partner. The Jubullum Local Aboriginal Land Council is the Foundation's primary First Nations governance partner. The Foundation Day announcement is contingent on JLALC having received and considered the Dual Poor ESG Target Acquisition Strategy. The Acknowledgement of Country wording for the broadcast is subject to written confirmation with Chairperson Ken Avery and Deputy Chairperson Priscilla Bell, with CEO Kevin as continuing operational contact.
